The word of God comes to us today from, St. Matthew 5:12, "Rejoice and be exceedingly glad for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you"
My topic today is,
"Reward for Service Given"
Did you know that we all will get some type of reward after this life is done and over with?
Are you confident that if you should die TODAY, you will be comfortable and satisfied with your reward?
With those 2 questions before you....Let us take a moment to explore the word of God.
Firstly, service encompasses a broad area to be explored. I will use this forum his to highlight a few, the bible says in Romans 12:1, that we should present our bodies as living sacrifices, holy and acceptable which is our reasonable service. Our body is the temple of God. It is this same body that houses the Holy Spirit. Even nature tells you as well as the bible quotes in St. Mark 2: 22 that you are unable to pour new wine in old bottles for the bottles will burst. Simply put, if we wish to receive the Holy Spirit from God we must have a changed spirit, we must live life holy, un-spotted. The word acceptable means that the conditions of our bodies MUST be in the condition for the master to come in. We must be able to control our selves in order to kill the lust and desires of the flesh on a daily basis which will allow us to be more mindful of the things of the spirit. When we meditate on God's word, keep his commandment and keep our bodies in an acceptable condition for the master's glory we are doing service to ourselves and ultimately serving God in the process.
*The most difficult battle in serving God is being able to master the act of self control but we must try earnestly each day to utilize our choices to choose that which God would have us do and not what we want to do.
The second aspect of this argument that I feel quite passionate about is service to our neighbors. The bible says in St. Luke 10:30-36, it speaks of a certain man that was robbed and left for dead and while on the road in an uncertain state, a priest passed him by, a Levite passed him by and they both took to the other side of the road, ignoring the man's need for assistance. It continues, with a Samaritan who then passes by, stops, aids the man and goes the extra mile to pay for the man to be restored to health. One thing I noted from this story is that the Samaritan had nothing to gain from helping the man in need.
This speaks about our service to people that we do not know, people that we do not have any ties/ affiliation to...meaning "you jus no know them from Adam's." It shows the true character of a person when you can truly reach into yourself and put out the effort to help a person in need without considering if you will get something in return. The bible says in Ecclesiastes 11, "Cat your bread on the waters for thou shalt find it after many days" meaning....do good to all you can do good to for the good you do will return in many days. It DID NOT say where the good would come from. So, I say to you...as the bible says, Colossians 3:23-25, "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons." Simply put....work for God, not for man. God sees everything.
My very final point is taken from St. Luke 22:27 which say, "is he that sitteth at meat greater than he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth." At this point Jesus Christ was having the last supper with his disciples. Knowing then that one would have betrayed him, one would also deny him but yet He led by example as He explains to them that while He is the Christ and master yet He also comes to serve His people. This tells us that we are never to high to serve those that are around us. Another thing I took from this is that many times we watch people closest to us hurt us in a way that we would never have expected them to. But Jesus Christ knew that two of his close followers would have denied and betrayed him...Now let's think for a while, you have a best friend and he/she acts as if they don't know you when you need them the most. How would you feel? But Jesus Christ in that same scripture knelt at the same men's feet and washed their feet in complete humility and love and provided service at it's best. Can you truly say that you are able to provide to those that hurt you service out of love or do you rejoice when you see that they are getting what they deserve.
Today, the onus is on you and me too...let us do self inspection and ask God to help us. Cause I don't know about you, I can speak however for myself many a times, I get vindictive, I get puffed up easily and I do thing for people only because...
BUT, choose this day to serve in love and humility for many times we have heard..."what goes around comes around" ,"the world is a cycle and everything wha happen go roun in a circle" and biblically, Galatians 6:7 "Be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap"
We are all Customer Service Reps.....May God bless you, Serve well!!!

The following story comes to us from Luke 17:11-19
There were 10 lepers in a village, as Christ passed by they beckoned to Him. As He passed by He gave instruction to see the priest. Immediately after speaking the word, they were healed.
They all dispersed with the exception of one who came back to give thanks for his healing, he came back and glorified God while the other nine lepers went there way.
The stories teaches us many lessons:
While we are in our crisis we cry out to God with sincerity but when we are given deliverance that is when our sincerity is tested.
We must be thankful at all times, in good and bad times.
Christ knows our heart, it says a lot about us as a person when someone continually does good for us and we are unappreciative.
What if after the healing there was a clause- give thanks or go back to leprosy?
Key to note- the bible says Jesus Christ falls rain on the just and the unjust- no matter what state of life we are in, Christ is there to provide, to grant mercy, grace. Was it not in our sinful times that He died on the cross for us? This means that there is never a time when it is acceptable to be ungrateful or not give thanks for what God has done for us.
I tell you a small story:
In my church it is a mandatory and very imperative part of our services for us to openly stand and give our praises...The praise similarly sounds like this, "Let me greet and honor our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, giving thanks for life, strength, health..... and you openly thank God for his goodness to you. There are times however when members have to be forced to give a praise or they just don't.....
I know we will say that maybe the person is shy, the bible says we should not be like the pharisees and speak out and use vain repetitions....
When Jesus Christ died on the cross he died a very public death, was whipped, spat on and he did this quite publicly for you and I so that we could have a chance at salvation. Now if you find yourself not wanting to publicly declare the gospel or speak the word of God would that mean you are ashamed of Him?
No matter what situation you find yourself in today remember these pointers:
Always a reason to give thanks:
Food on your table
A constant friend-Jesus Christ
Take a moment today and give thanks!!!!!

The bible speaks of the wheat and the tares...St. Matthew 13:24-30. Take keen note of verse 30,
"Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn."
--The tares (bad seeds) are going to be separated on the day of Judgement when the decision will be made be He who created us. The verse above says that the day of harvest, the tares will be binded and burnt. The onus is on us to ensure that we are not apart of that group. That we are living a life of truth.
Wheat is a grass widely cultivated for its seed, a cereal grain which is a worldwide staple food.
A weed resembling corn.
Now I am not a farmer but I know a few friends who are, they tell me that wheat and tares resemble each other. They are normally found together and on the same soil. So that tells me that there is common attributes between them both.
The story of the wheat and the tares tells us that the kingdom of Heaven is like a field where a sower went out sowed good seeds but while he slept, the enemy went out into the man's field and also sowed bad seeds (tares) also.
Now when both have been sowed, you will notice that they both utilize the same soul (the word of God), they both grow, they both are closely knit together and they appear and behave very similar. The wheat however was sown for the harvesting of the seeds, every child of God must produce fruit, you must share what you have as salvation is not for just us but the bible tells us that Jesus Christ came for the sinners and not for the saved (paraphrased).
Moral of the Story:
Not every one that appears to be of God is really of God. The bible tells us that when Christ comes, many will say, "Christ Christ have
not cast out demons and prophesied in your name" He will respond and say, "depart from me, I know you not"(paraphrased) St. Matthew 7:21-23
The bible also tells us that in the last days, many false prophets will rise up to try and fool the people of God, Also Paul warned the Ephesian elders in Acts 20:28-30 saying, "Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.
Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them."
There are many false among us but what I would implore every child of God to do be courageous, stand firm and ensure that you have a personal relationship with God in which you pray and ask God DAILY for truth. This too is one of the reasons for the Holy Spirit, as the bible tells us that the Holy Spirit will direct us into all truth.
You may not have the Holy Spirit, you may be seeking after God, after truth DO NOT be overly concerned with what the world is doing...the bible says, test the spirit, 1 John 4:1-4, tells us that if the spirit that manifest confesses that Jesus Christ is come in flesh and is of God then the spirit is of God.
Truth is an important part of who God is, as we see the many scriptures that speaks about truth in the bible. Of all those, my favorite must be John 4:24, God is a spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth"
Of all the scriptures, my favorite is
Friends, pray for a discerning spirit, pray for the truth of God and while you pray, pray for those who have been tricked or manipulated on by false prophets.
Again, I leave you with...
1 John 4:1-4,
(1)Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
(2)Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:
(3)And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist,

2 Kings 4:1:7 (click and read)
The bible speaks of a certain woman who was in distress because her husband had died and left her in debt. Her situation had grown so grave that her two sons were to be taken as bondsmen to appease her loan shark. The woman in distress decided that since her husband was a man of service,(he was a prophet) she decided that she would seek after the man of God and get help for her situation.
When the woman went to the prophet she explain her situation and asked how she could be helped. The man of God, Elisha asked her what she had in her house. In despair the woman quickly answered, "I have nothing....BUT a pot of oil."
Elisha gave instruction for her to borrow vessels from her neighbors and he instructed her to borrow quite a number of vessels. He instructed her to go in her house, shut the door and pour from her pot into the vessels. The woman, desperate at this point did not question the resolution the prophet gave. She followed the instructions and she was immensely blessed for her obedience.
Key Arguments from the Scripture:
Know who to go to for help- The woman could have gone to her friend, she could have gone anywhere but she went to the man of God, Elisha. ----Know who to go to with your issues, if not the man of God, go to God directly.
Know how to follow instructions- The woman could have asked why as she was already in debt but her situation required her to still borrow although she was in debt-----The bible says, "obedience is better than sacrifice." If we are not obedient to the word of God we will not be able to follow after his righteousness.
Following from the previous point, the woman had faith...the bible says, "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of thing not seen,"Hebrews 11:1 and it also says, "without faith it is impossible to please God..." Hebrews 11:6 Many people believe that faith is the mouth talk, saying that I believe that it will happen. But on the contrary faith is not knowing it will but believing it will and stepping out making preparations for what you don't see as yet. If the woman did not have faith in the man of God she would have questioned his resolution or she would have just not followed his instructions.
Another key argument is what do we have in our houses....both physical and spiritual houses- We can serve God and make a show on the outside but are we still manifesting behaviors and attitudes on the inside that are not Christlike. The chapter speaks of the little good thing the woman had inside her house that made her richly blessed for God had something to work with.
Thought of the Day- Ask yourself?
What are you currently struggling with today?
Have you brought it to God or even the man of God that leads your assembly?
Are you in spiritual, physical, emotional or financial crisis today?
What do you have on the inside that God can work with?
Are you truly obedient to the will of God?
What do you do with instructions when you get them?
The bible says and I base all of my life as a child of God on this scripture, John 14:15, "If you love me, keep my commandments" many a times we find ourselves breaking one or more of the commandments or just not walking, talking or thinking right but we must strive at all times to be obedient to the will of God. In the bible it shows many times where Israel through disobedience suffered under the wrath of God or just had life more difficult than they should. Take for example the 40 day trip to the promise life....because of disobedience they spent 40 years doing what could have been done in 40 days.
I leave you with this...
Do some self assessment TODAY, are you at the place where God wants you to be?
Do a SWOT analysis and find those hindrances and pray that God will make a way for you to come up higher in Him.
My Prayer for us
Heavenly Father and friend, as we come boldly to the throne of grace, we acknowledge our shortcomings before you. Knowing that many times we have failed miserably to be obedient to your will and your word.
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth we pray that as we do introspection today into our houses, both physical and spiritual that God your Holy Spirit will sweep through the areas of our hearts that have been locked away and hid from the eyes of this world. We ask you to cleanse us of unrighteousness and renew in us a right mind, a right attitude towards your word and a right spirit.
Help us Lord that we will serve your from a right spirit, for your word did say that God is a spirit and they that worship Him must do so in spirit and in truth. We pray Almighty God that today you will allow through your Holy Spirit that we will find and manifest truth in our words and our actions.
Lord as we seek after you today, we ask that you will give us an obedient spirit so that we may be able to serve you in true obedience, give us the endurance and the grace to make it through this walk of faith as we aim to serve you continually. Dear Lord hear our cry this day, as we give you thanks for your manifested presence in our lives. In the highly and exalted name of Jesus Christ we pray.

A young man came to me telling me about a site and to God be the glory, I have the word of God on the inside, I could lead him to truth and give her the raw uncut word of God. For we are the light of the world. I just want to humble share with you how the enemy will come will lies to conquer your truth but I implore you to know the word of God on the inside so when the devil comes, you blast him with the word of God.
Start of the email chain....
-The young man sent me a website telling me that he found truth and he wants me to check it out for him
I did get a chance to browse it a little, from my views and from what was revealed to me, it appears that these persons on the site are still functioning under the dispensation of the law, which was in the time of Moses. There are seven dispensations of man, they are:
1.Dispensation of Innocence- Adam and Eve time
2. Dispensation of Conscience- When Adam and Eve left the garden of Eden
3.Human Government- Noah's time
4.Dispensation of Promise-Abraham's time
5.Dispensation of Law- Moses time, Judges (the book in the bible will tell you more)
6.Dispensation of Grace-Our time, After the death of Christ on the cross
7.Millennial Kingdom of Christ- When Jesus Christ come back for His people
**The dispensations of man would be the seven periods that man goes through, depending on what God thinks is fit for that era.
We are currently under the Dispensation of Grace.
When the children of Israel were in the wilderness and in Egypt the were given the law so that they would have rules to govern how they behaved. The people of that time still could not come up to God's requirement for them, they could not purge and cleanse themselves of sin. So at that time God made a decision that he would manifest himself in the form of Jesus Christ, as a sacrificial lamb for the sins of the whole world to be purged, sins of today and tomorrow.
In the time of Moses, the people were required to make sacrifices to God in the form of doves, birds and various animals. Exodus 23, Leviticus 23 The people would go to the priest and tell him of their sins and the priest made atonement for their sins with the sacrifices they offered, yet the people would be cleansed and then go back to idolatry. (idolatry can be in the form of putting woman before God, then she is your idol or your car or your kids. Anything put before God is an idol). Now, when God saw this He decided that He would manifest himself in the spirit and come in the form of Jesus Christ, die for our sins as the ultimate sacrifice. Then when Christ left in St. John He said that He would leave a Comforter that would bring us into all truth. John 14
Man can now sacrifice himself to God, make a sacrifice of your heart, giving God full access by being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, believing that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior and be baptized with the Holy Spirit. This allows each man no matter how we have gone wrong we can approach the throne of Grace, as you can see a shift here cause before the people had to ask Moses to ask God, or to speak to God for them. Leviticus 27, They had no direct contact. But now we can go to God direct and he will hear us and answer.Hebrews 4:16
My brother, I admire your quest to seek truth and to re-connect with God but let me share the way...
The bible says, " how can a young man cleanse his ways but by heeding to the word of God" In 2 Chronicles 7:14 the bible says,
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
So, you gotta 1st Humble yourself, come down from where you are know that you are nothing before God. you can't be going about seeking God like you all that or God needs you, you need Him.
Then you gotta pray....pray opens up communication, allowing you to tell God what you are about and to say sorry for your wrong ways, you have to acknowledge Him, talk to him so He can talk back.
You then must seek God's face, you can't pray to Alaway of Buddah, Vishnu, the name of the Lord is Jesus Christ. I am that I am is just who God told Moses He was but not a name. The name of Jesus Christ was revealed in part by the angel who visited Mary to advise her of the conception of her son. Then the revelation of Christ was made made at a later time ( go link you back on this) but if the people on the website stuck on law they won't have the revelation of the name of Jesus Christ.
Turn- important!!!! You must repent/ turn from all the things that you are doing that is not of God. When you begin to turn to God and away from the world then God will turn to you and He will reveal that which Himself to you.
When you have done all these things then God will give you what you are asking for.
Be careful how you go about seeking God because many false prophets have risen up and will try to sway God's people but there is one faith, one God and one baptism.
Inviting you to the Church of Jesus Christ, 17 Perry St. Behind Mobay High. We have General Convocation April 16-19 you can come at 6 pm on any of these days to hear the truth of God

Be careful of your motives to follow Christ, many will preach you a "prosperity message" BUT really is it the Will of God?
You have been sent this message today because I want to encourage your heart to continue to follow Christ for the right reasons.
The Bible says, "it is easier for a camel to enter the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven" this means that it is impossible for a rich man to enter Heaven. Why? Because a rich man depends on his material wealth to make it through the day while a poor man will depend on His God to carry him through.
When you are poor, you have nothing, for water-you cry out to God, for food- you cry out to God, for shelter-you cry out to God. A rich man however may become forgetful because the richer, the more concerns you have. Don't get me wrong you will have rich people that love, depend and praise God religiously but the majority of rich people you know, Do they result their success to God? Do they even know who He is...?
Now follow me here....
In Matthew 19:21, Jesus Christ tells the rich man to sell all he has and give to the poor if he wants to be perfect and he will have treasures in Heaven.
When Samuel went to anoint the King directed by God, he (Samuel) saw Jesse's sons and taught the tall, muscular sons would have been King but in reality it was David that was called in from the field, small in stature and thought of as the reject of all the sons, but God watches the heart.
Now my point is no matter what your earthly possessions, your stature or even how educated you are. We are called by God and taught the ways of salvation and through water baptism and the baptism of the Holy Spirit we are given salvation. I am not saying God will not give to your treasures here on Earth, quite the opposite. A child of God will receive all he/she needs. The Bible says, "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory bu Christ Jesus"
A lot of people think that when we start serving Christ we must automatically prosper...NOT TRUE!!! You will prosper but only if it is the Will of God. Matthew 16:24-26, tells us that we should take up our cross and follow Christ, denying ourselves...it says who will lose their self for God will save their soul....Do not be overly concerned about yourself for God to take control of you and order and direct your life you must deny self and give God full control, you will suffer, Job was a man of God's own heart but he suffered and after his test was over he was restored and blessed beyond his former state...His heart was in the right place and his faith rooted in His creator.
The problem is we are not focused on God, we are focused on what we can get from God.
1. Are you ready for the responsibility of what you are praying for?
2. Are you properly educated about what you are asking for?
3.Are you able to manage the demands of what you are asking for?
4.Will you attract the wrong spirits with what you are asking for?
5.Are you able to get what you want and still serve God?
My point here is...God know all, He knows what you can and cannot manage
Let me leave you with this....
1 Peter 3:12-17, Peter encourages us to be righteous, he mentions that if we suffer we will be happy...he tells us to keep a clean and pure heart, have a good conscience but with a surety he says we should be ready to answer to the the evil doers that falsely accuse you and speak evil about you.
In your prosperous days remember God, in your valley remember Him too for He promises to never leave nor forsake us. God is not slack concerning His promise, if it is His will to prosper you, He will but if you are not ready for what you ask for, be patient and wait on God.
God bless you! See ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.
Through it all, I've learnt to TRUST in Christ.
Through it all, I've learnt to TRUST in Christ.

While I was going through my day, I heard my supervisor ask a colleague of mine while listening to some gospel songs, if he knew a particular song, my colleagues response was, "I don't listen to gospel, don't like it!" then I remembered that yesterday my friend who had recently lost her mother asked us to turn the gospel music off because it was not "motivating her."
So while pondering my current status with God, while walking through the building at work, I realized that man has become so distant from God and even as a child of God we tend to slip every now and again back to being in sins grip as oppose to besieging God for His grace and His mercy to cleft us back from the enemy and for God to restore us back to our first love, Him.
The bible say in Proverbs 3:5, "trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thy own understanding." You know many times we tend to think, me, me, me and I, I, I. But never do we take time to acknowledge God's ever present hands in our lives. We fail to realize that He is the one who had awaken us this morning from a night of slumber, He is the one that takes us to work safely, He is the one that shields us on the highways and bi-ways. We offend place our trust in self and men, we trust that I woke up this morning, we overlook the fact that an accident could have stopped our life's progress in just a second and we fail to realize that we ought to acknowledge that God is in control of our lives whether we choose to admit it or not.
While meditating a few weeks ago, I got a profound and beautiful revelation from God, as He spoke to me while hustling through my busy day at work. I heard a soft voice say, "cast your bread on the water." Not fully knowing the scripture I ran off to Google the passage, when I realized that it came from Ecclesiastes 11, as I read I was reduced to tears for when God speaks to you, His word can be so profound and His words usual gets us to internal His message and humble ourselves before Him.
While the tear drops streamed from my face, I realized that in the passage came words like, Verse 4, "He that observeth the wind will never sow, " I was fearful to step out I wanted take risk in my every day life, I was fearful of taking out loans, I would not continue school because I was worried, what if I can't pay the loans back, what will I do? Through this revelation God ministered to my spirit that if I question and watch everything that can go wrong, I will never move forward in faith. I think what really had me bawling like a baby as I read was Verses 5 and 6 which reads, "As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit, nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her that is with child: even so thou knowest not the works of God who maketh all. In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knowest not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good." That tells me that I am not in control, if I stay in my house and never leave for the fear inside of me, I am liable to process or suffer but either way I would not be the one in control and if I stepped out in faith and took the risk, my failure or my success still would not be dependent on me. Through this revelation, I began to realize that God is the one in control and it humbled me.
You know in that very same chapter it gives at the end a warning for us youth, in Verse 8,9 and 10, the writer warns that if we in our youth walk in the ways of our own heart then the Lord will bring us into judgement. Though we are to walk by faith, trusting the Lord we are also to acknowledge Him first in ALL the decisions we make and we are to wait on Him to provide us with direction so our paths are the ones that He has set out for us.
Step 1: You have a desire, goal or something you are interested in.
Step 2: Take it to the Lord in prayer, let Him know what you are interested in, talk to Him about it.
Step 3: WAIT....!!! Pray and FAST while you wait.
Step 4: LISTEN in Obedience!
Step 5: DO EXACTLY AS INSTRUCTED!!!
Step 6: Trust God that He knows best.
One of my favorite verses and quite frequently comes up in my spirit to keep me in line is, Proverbs 14:12, "there is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death" So many times, I look around me and I see so many different directions in which I want to go. Even when I started this website, I had it without a proper name because I was adamant that I would not name it out of self, so I followed the method listed above and I waited for God to drop something in my spirit and He did and that was how the name came about.
So often we do something, we act or we say something that is not Christ like yet we do not see the repercussions at the same time we tend to believe that we have gotten off scotch free but the word of God tells us in Romans 2, that we are inexcusable, we can make no excuses because the gospel has been preached, we have been given chance after chance after chance to make it right with God but free will allows us to choose, yet we choose to do that which is not right in the sight of God. So, every man will get a reward for His work whether good or bad.
See I deduce that for some of us, we have to fall to rock bottom in order for God to get His glory from our lives, the word of God says that we were created as God's workmanship to worship Him. The word also tells us in Genesis that when God created man, in the cool of the day He came down and He fellowshipped with man. God wants to have a relationship with man but because of man's sinful nature we have developed a wedge between us and God. In order to start hearing His voice again, to re-develop that relationship with God we have to turn from sin and back to Him, acknowledge Him and commit our ways to Him for His leading and directing. The bible says, "If my people who are called by my name should humble themselves, pray, seek my face and turn from their wicked ways then I will hear from Heaven and I will heal their land." God still offers His salvation, His glory and His power today for you and I but we must accept it.
Today we find that many people suffer from depression, anxiety, heart attacks and several different illnesses due to a lack of trust in God. Did you know that when the Israelities were to travel out of Egypt they were given a diet by God? You can find that out in_. God knows us better than we know ourselves, He knows even our tomorrows before we do. If we truly acknowledged God, even when that husband cheated, we would trust that God can heal that marriage, if we trusted God we would not get overwhelmed when we lose our jobs, but know that God is working it out for our good. If we trusted God, we would not get depressed when things aren't going our way but we would lift our hands to the sky and thank God regardless. We need to realize that every situation we face in this life is for our growth and development and the more we trust God the easier it will be the next time to do.
Take my advice today and do this with me because I too get weak.
Let's go into prayer.....
O Christ Jesus,
when all is darkness
and we feel our weakness and helplessness,
give us the sense of Your presence,
Your love, and Your strength.
Help us to have perfect trust
in Your protecting love
and strengthening power,
so that nothing may frighten or worry us,
for, living close to You,
we shall see Your hand,
Your purpose, Your will through all things.
Help me to stand still why you work,
Help me to understand that you are there even when I hurt.
Teach me to trust in your mighty hands,
Through obedience help me to live as you command,
Guide me in actions, thought, work or play,
And give my mind peace so I don't worry all day.
Let me know that you still here,
Help me to call on you whether far or near.
Teach my heart to always pray,
Trusting in you even when I don't see the way,
Give me sobriety to always choose,
The right for me within your will,
Thank you for listening my earnest cry,
Thank you for mercies so I don't die,
Thank you for prayers prayed in my heart,
Thank you today, this is where I start,
In the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and savior now I pray.
The Story of Jabez
The Story of Jabez

1 Chronicles 4:9- Story of Jabez
(9) And Jabez was more honourable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow. Jabez: that is, Sorrowful
(10) And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
Jabez was given his name because of the sorrow he caused his mother. Sometimes we are called names by people as a limitation to tell us we cant...we won't....we will never be able.... but I want to tell you that no matter what people call you, think about you. What matters is the relationship that you have with God.
A right relationship with God has several benefits:
-Comfort: The bible says in St. John, that when Christ left this earth he sent the comforter, that would dwell with us forever.
-Peace: In a world so troubled, we can rest assured that whatever we face or go through is the will of God or else it would not happen.
-Joy: there is a immeasurable amount of joy faced by believers when they are baptized by the Holy Spirit, you will fins that you are able to face life's difficulties with a smile on your face. From time to time you may find yourself unhappy but joy is unlimited and does not change, is constant and can be connected or activated at any time. One the believer enters into communication with God, whether by worship or just prayer....the joy is reactivated.
- There are many other benefits that a right relationship with God gives*
So...Jabez went to God, having a right relationship to begin with as we see in verse 9 that Jabez was honorable, even more so that his brethren. Who are you today? Are you being who God created to you be? Can God speak highly of you as He did for Job?
Today, we live in a world where we are so bombarded with an ever overflowing to do list, but I implore you find time for prayer. Find time to communicate with God, Philippians 4:6, "Be careful for nothing but in all things through prayer, supplication with thanksgiving make your request known unto God" Prayer is an essentially form communication between worshiper and God. It allows you to bear your nakedness in front of your master, talk to him and he will talk back to you.
Another thing, read your Bible...as often as you can. Through the words of the Bible we get direct words for our everyday life. As you read the word of God, you store scriptures in your memory bank for later. When the time is right God will quicken your heart, bringing back to your remembrance a particular scripture to encourage you on your walk of faith or to confirm or deter you from something...i.e his way to direct and order your steps.
I end with this....many people say these days that God does not speak. DO WE LISTEN? God talks through nature, His word (John 1:1) "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" It is the plan of the enemy to keep the people of God weak and distracted. Stay in the word of God, read it meditate on it and speak to God so he can speak to you and like Jabez, despite who you are or the lack there of, your God will turn it around in your favor.
Yanique Moodie-"The change I want to see....my first begin in me"
And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
